Warpface Double Chevron [W] Pattern

Row 1 [part-1]

Find the middle of the [part 1]of Row 1.
    [NOTE] The warp strands that are to the right of middle of the right hand half of the work piece make up the [part 1] shed of Row 1.

    [NOTE] The [part 1] shed is made up of the warp strands between the middle of the right hand half and the right hand edge of the work piece.

Row 1 [part-1]

Select the[part 1]weft strand of the Row 1 [part 1] shed.
  • [NOTE]The warp strand that is to the left of the middle of the right hand half of the work-piece.

Row 1 [part-1] Pass [part-1] weft strand through [part-1] shed.

  • Pass the [part 1] weft strand through the Row 1 [part 1] shed to the right hand edge of the work piece.

Row 1 [Part 1] Secure weft strand.
  • Place the [part 1] weft strand over the index finger of the right hand.

    Place the adjacent [part 1] warp strand under the index finger of the right hand.

Row 1
[Part 1]Reverse the first part of the shed.

  • Transfer the [part 1] shed to the index finger of the right hand.

  • Starting on the left hand side of the [part 1]shed, move one warp strand at a time to the idex finger of the left hand.
    • [NOTE] Each warp strand moves from the shed layer it is in the right hand to the opposite shed layer in the left hand.

  • Set the weave by using the index finger as a beater and pulling the [part 1] weft strand snug.

  • Return the [part 1] weft strand to the warp bundle.

    [NOTE]Reversing the shed by working toward the free end of the weft strand helps to prevent the weft strand from being seen between the warp strands.

Row 1 [Part 2]

Select the Row 1 [part 2] weft strand.
    Transfer the [part 1] shed warp strands to the index finger of the right hand.

    The warp strand that is on the left hand edge of the [part 1] shed is selecte as the Row 1 [part 2] weft strand.

Row 1 [Part 2]

Pass the [part 2] weft strand through the Row 1 [part 2] shed.
    [NOTE] Use the third and fourth fingers of the right hand to maitain some tention on the [part 1] warp strands.

    [NOTE] Use the thumb, the index finger, and the second fingere of the right hand to minipulate the [part 2] shed warp strands.

    [NOTE] The [part 2] shed is made up of the warp strands between the middle of the right hand half and the middle of the work piece.

    Place the [part 2] weft strand under the index finger of the left hand.

Row 1 [Part 2]

Secure the [part 2] weft strand.

    Place the adjacent [part 2] warp strand over the index finger of the left hand.

Reverse the [part 2] shed.

    Transfer the [part 2] shed to the index finger of the left hand.

    Start on the right hand side of the [part 2] shed, move one warp strand at a time to the idex finger of the right hand.

  • The warp strand that is to the left of the middle of the left hand half of the work-piece is selected as the [part 3] Row 1 weft strand.

  • Pass the [part 3] weft strand through the [part 3] shed to the middle of the work piece.

    Start on the left hand side of the [part 3] shed, move one warp strand at a time to the idex finger of the left hand.

    [NOTE] Each warp strand is moved from the shed layer it is in the right hand to the opposite shed layer in the left hand.

    [OBSERVE] The [part 2] weft strand and the [part 3] weft strand cross each other at the center of the work-piece.
    After the weft strands cross they become warp strands.

    Set the weave by using the index finger as a beater and pulling the weft strand snug.

    Transfer [part 3]shed to the index finger of the right hand.

    [NOTE]The [part 4] Row 1 shed is from the middle of the left hand side of the work piece to the left hand side of the work piece.

    Select the warp strand that is on the right hand edge of the [part 4] Row 1 shed as the [part 4] Row 1 weft strand.

    Use an index fingers as a beater.

    Pull the layers of the shed in opposite directions.

    Identify the middle of the right hand half of the work piece.

    [Observe] The Row 1 [part 1] and the Row 1 [part 2] weft strads crossed each other at the middle of the right hand half of the work piece.

Row 2 [Part 1]

Reverse the [part 1] shed.

    Transfer the [part 1] shed to the right index finger.

    Starting on the left hand side of the [part 1] shed, move one warp strand at a time to the idex finger of the left hand.

    [NOTE] Each warp strand moves from the shed layer it is in the right hand to the opposite shed layer in the left hand.

    Set the [part 1] shed weave by using the index finger as a beater and pulling the [part 1] weft strand snug.

    Then the [part 1] weft strand is returned to the warp bundle.

Row 2 [Part 2]

Select the weft strand for the [part 2] Row 2 shed.
