Warpface Double Chevron [M] Pattern

Headstick configuration

Casting on:
  • There must be at least two colors.

  • The number of strands of each color must be divisible by 4.

  • The sequence of strands.
      1/4 color one
      1/2 color two
      1/2 color one
      1/2 color two
      1/4 color one

Find the midpoint of the right hand half of the work piece.
  • The warp strands that are to the right of the midpoint of the right hand half of the work piece make up the Row 1 [part 1] shed.

Row 1 [part-1]
    Select the [part 1] weft strand.
  • The first warp strand on the right hand side of the work piece is selected as the [part 1] weft strand.

Pass the [part 1] weft strand to the left through the [part 1] shed of Row 1.

Secure the [part 1] weft strand.
    Place weft strand under the index finger of the left hand.

    Place the warp strand that is on the left hand side of the [part 1] shed over the index finger of the left hand.

Reverse the [part 1] shed.

  • Transfering the [part 1] shed to the left index finger

  • Starting on the right hand side of the [part 1] shed, reverse the shed by moving one warp strand at a time to the idex finger of the right hand.
    • [NOTE] Each strand moves from the shed layer it is in the left hand to the opposite shed layer in the right hand.

Row 1 [part-2]

Find the middle of the workpiece.
  • [NOTE] The [part 2] shed is made up of the warp strands between the midpoint of the right hand half and the middle of the work piece.

Select the weft strand for the [part 2] shed of the Row 1.
  • Reach through the [part 2] shed.

  • Select the warp strand that is to the left of the middle of the work piece as the [part 2] weft strand.

  • Pass the [part 2] weft strand to the right through the [part 2] shed of the Row 1.

  • Place the [part 1] weft strand over the right hand index finger.

Select the [part 3] weft strand.
  • Select the warp strand that was originally to the right of the middle as the row 1 [part 3] weft strand.
    [OBSERVE] The [part 1] and [part 2] weft strrands cross each other at the middle of the workpiece.

    [NOTE]The [part 3] of the Row 1 shed is from the middle of the workpiece to the midpoint of the left hand half of the workpiece.

  • Starting on the right hand side of the [part 3] shed, move one yarn strand at a time to the idex finger of the right hand.

  • [NOTE] Each strand moves from the shed layer held by the left hand to the opposite shed layer in the right hand.

  • Pick up the first warp strand on the left hand side of the work piece.

  • [NOTE] The selected strand is now the [part 4] weft strand of the Row 1 shed.
