Warpface Fingerweaving 2 Color Arrowhead; Same Side.

2 Colored Arrowhead -- Same Sides
This part of the tutorial will present the steps for weaving a 2 color arrowhead pattern where the colors remain on the same side. The headstick configuration has one half the warp strands that form the arrowhead as one collor and the other half a second color. Weaving will start on the right side of the work-piece. The weft strands from the two sides meet at the middle where they become the middle warp strands. [NOTE] There are two basic formes of the two colored arrowhead: In one form of the two colors of the arrowheads alternate from one side to the other. In the other form the colors of the arrowheads stay on the same side.

Headstick configuration for 2 color arrrowhead.

Pass the row 1 right side weft strand through the shed to the middle of the arrowhead warp strands.

The first warp strand on the right hand side is selected as the row 1 right side weft strand.

Form the interlock on the right hand side of the row 1 right side weft strand.

Fold the weft strand up over the warp strand that is to the right of the middle.

Reverse the row 1 right side shed.

Transfer the row 1 right side shed to the left hand index finger.

Start on the right hand side of row 1. Work toward the middle.

[NOTE] Be careful to maintain the over/under configuration. Keep the warp strands parallel.

Secure the row 1 right side weft strand.

Place the weft strand in the top layer.

Pass the left hand side row 1 weft strand to middle.

Transfer the row 1 shed to the index finger of the left hand.

Select the first warp strand on the left hand side of the work piece as the row 1 left side weft strand.

Pass the weft strand through the shed to the middle of the work piece.

Form the interlock in the left hand side of the row 1 left side weft strand.

Fold the weft strand down over the warp strand that is to the left of the middle.

Interlock the row 1 right side weft strand and the row 1 left side weft strands.

Fold the right side weft strand down over the left side weft strand.

Secure the row 1 middle warp strands.

Reverse the row 1 left side shed.

Transfer the row 1 shed to the right hand index finger.

Start on the right hand side of the work-piece. Work toward the middle.

Set row 1 weave.

Pull the layers of the shed in opposite directions.

Check individual strands to ensure that they are snug and even.

Pass the row 2 right side weft strand through the shed to the row 1 interlock.

The first warp strand on the right hand side is selected as the row 2 right side weft strand.

Form an interlock in row 2 right side weft strand.

Fold the row 2 right side weft strand up over the warp strand next to row 1 interlock. [NOTE] The right side weft strand becomes a warp strand and the warp strand becones the next segment of the row 2 right side weft strand.
