Diamond checker board axcent for joining color bands.
  • This part of the tutorial uses two sets of yarn strands that have different colors and an even number of strands.
  • The top layer of the shed is on the left to right diagonal.
  • The first strand on the right hand side is in the top layer of the shed.
  • The checker board pattern is used to turn the strand back into their original side.

This tutorial will illistrate the weaving of adiamond accent used to join two color bands.

Weave the first row of the diamond checker board pattern by following the steps for weaving a row of diagonally interlaced fingerweaving.

[OBSERVE] In the center of the row, there are two right hand color band strands corssing two left hand color band strands.

Start first interlock.

Step 1--- first interlock
  • Use the right hand thumb and index finger to reach under the first bottom shed layer strand.
  • Then over the second bottom layer shed strand.
  • Pull the third bottom layer strand to the right.

  • Thransfer the first and third bottom shed strands to the index finger of the right hand.
